Our Faculty

Established in 1959, Boğaziçi University’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences was reorganized in 2025 by a Presidential Decree into two separate faculties: the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. The Faculty of Science encompasses the Departments of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Molecular Biology and Genetics.

As of 2025, the Faculty employs >31 professors, 14 associate professors, 17 assistant professors, 5 lecturers (teaching), 2 lecturers (applied unit), 54 research assistants, 7 international contracted faculty members, 1 Turkish contracted faculty member, and 30 part-time instructors who contribute to the faculty’s research and educational activities. Notably, 70% of our full-time faculty members hold their Ph.D. degrees from universities abroad.

Recognized as a leading choice for science enthusiasts in Türkiye, the Boğaziçi University Faculty of Science is home to a vibrant community of 1432 undergraduate students.
